Story
The literary sensation Southern scum go home! is the Slovenian bestseller and has been one year at the top of best-selling books in Slovenia and highly on chart of the most borrowed books in our libraries. The author of the novel, Goran Vojnović was awarded with the Slovenian national award »Prešeren Fund Award« and »Kresnik« award for best novel of the year. Meanwhile the novel was published in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Poland, while in Slovenia it was turned into a hugely successful theatre performance, with more than 130 repeats. Vojnović is currently working with the legend of Yugoslavian film Abdulah Sidran (author of the screenplays for Kustorica's cult films »Do you remember Dolly Bell« and »When Father Was Away on Business«) and preparing the screenplay that will transfer the adventures of seventeen year old Marko Đorđić and his friends from Fužine to the screen. In this way the story about Fužine, Marko, Adi, Aco, Dejan, their »čefurskih« parents, sexy leader, annoying little »čefurke« girls, beaten drivers and burning dumps will finally return to its starting point, since it was initially written as a screenplay and then transformed into a novel.
